A quality-management system provides a framework for controlling work. Buyers should evaluate how the supplier reviews requirements, controls production, records inspection and responds to problems on the actual component.

Does a quality-system certificate replace part approval?
No. Check the certificate separately and approve the product against its agreed requirements. A management-system certificate does not state that every tolerance, material or customer submission package is available.
