Machining
Processes
TDB operates state-of-the-art facilities for manufacturing fittings and plate flanges, along with packaging and distribution. Unlike conventional mass production, our process leverages multi-station capabilities for forming, machining, annealing, and surface finishing.
Forging or Casting
Forging: The raw material is heated and hammered or pressed into the desired shape. This process is common for creating strong and durable flanges.
Casting: Molten metal is poured into a mold that shapes the flange or fitting. This method is used for complex shapes or large-scale production.
Machining
Turning and Boring: CNC lathes are used to machine the flange's outer diameter, inner diameter, and faces. Boring: is done to create accurate internal dimensions. Drilling and Tapping: Holes for bolts are drilled and tapped into the flange. Milling: Milling machines may be used to create grooves or keyways in the fittings.
Heat Treatment
Annealing or Quenching: Heat treatment processes are often applied to enhance the material's mechanical properties, like hardness and toughness.
Surface Finishing
Grinding: The surfaces of the flange and fitting are ground to achieve a smooth finish.
Polishing: Polishing can be done for a finer finish, especially if the parts are used in applications requiring a high surface finish.
Coating: Depending on the application, parts might be coated (e.g., with zinc or other protective layers) to prevent corrosion.
